January 26, 2014

I do need to say that last Sunday was not my favorite day at the Dog Park and this post was extremely not fun to write.  During our visit this day, Lola was loving the affection she was receiving from one of the two-legged visitors.  This woman's dog tried to nudge his was in and before I knew it Lola started a dog fight.  This is hours after my FaceBook post stating that bullying should not be tolerated:(  She was punished and I hope she realizes that this behavior was unacceptable.  Now, my job will be to watch her for signs in the future.

Aside from this, all dogs seemed to have a great time ...while all humans were shivering from the cold.

This is the victim looking for reassurance that all would be okay ...and yes, it was.  Although, it was a scary situation, no dog was physically hurt.  Thank goodness!

January 25, 2014

I would like to take a few minutes to introduce a new furry friend named Balto.  He was recently rescued from the Bangor Humane Society and had previously been a stray (meaning no history).  I loved how his owners took it slow in introducing him to what looked like a scary place ~ They first walked the perimeter from the outside.  Letting him sniff other dogs with the safety of a fence and this also allowed him to watch how other dogs play.  A HUGE thank you also goes to the husky at the end who showed Balto that you always start with a nice play bow.
To see more photos of Balto, you will need go to the end of this post.

Balto can't resist telling secrets to Lola ~ I think he is saying your ear smells not too great ...and he was right, Lola is being treated for a mild ear infection.

Ike can't resist temptation ...and this glove was very tempting.

I couldn't get enough of watching this husky's play bows.

We couldn't have picked a more perfect dog than this husky to introduce Balto to the Dog Park!

...and then my camera ran out of batteries.  You will need to use your imagination for the other incredible dogs that came to the Dog Park that day.
